Paying High Prices for Antibiotics

Visiting the doctor can be a big expense for people, even when they have good health insurance but especially when they don't. Unfortunately, if you're sick and you think prescription drugs are the only way to get better, you may have to bite the bullet and see your physician (or at least visit a walk-in clinic). In some cases, antibiotics will help you heal quickly and without any lasting complications. This is very important if you have something like strep throat or certain types of pneumonia. The cost of medical care may hurt, but it will hurt a lot more to stay sick, miss time at work, and potentially wind up with something life threatening in the end.

If you are worried about how to afford your medical bills, the good news is that a lot of doctors take credit cards. Usually, they at least accept Visa and Mastercard, if not American Express and Discover, so if you have a card, you should be able to charge your co-pay or prescriptions as needed and pay the bills off over time. With any luck, health care reform will happen and we won't have to worry about these insurmountable bills in the future.
